Robert Jorgensen has been a member of the Christian Life Center since 2001. Before his time at CLC, Robert was repeatedly traumatized mentally, emotionally and physically. He sought the assistance of medical professionals to no avail. Finally, after years of seeking professional help, Robert found freedom and relief in Jesus Christ. Robert was delivered from constant spiritual oppression that tormented him for years.

“God changed my heart. He told me ‘I’m not gonna take away the stuff. I’m gonna go through it with you.’ And that gave me hope.” Robert also felt that God told him to listen to Pastor Jack. “God told me it’s not Pastor Jack, it’s what’s in you you’re fighting. By staying at CLC, I’m growing. I’m dealing with what’s in me.”

While attending CLC, Robert also married his wife, Vicki Jorgensen. They have been married for 14 years. They have been actively attending CLC together since they’ve been married.

“God gave me a great wife. She was God’s choice for me. She helps me. We’re both helpers for each other.”

Not long after he started attending CLC, God encouraged Robert to work. Out of obedience to the nudging of the Holy Spirit, Robert began volunteering at CLC. He continued to volunteer for years and years.

“I love this church and I love the people in it. I’m here at CLC because God wants me here. Pastor Jack gives the Word I need. My mental healing came through interaction with the people and my physical healing came by doing and working. I love fixing things.”

Today, Robert is no longer a volunteer. He is a CLC staff member as the landscaper and custodian. He is responsible for maintaining the landscape on the church property. He ensures the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. And he also conducts basic maintenance repairs throughout the entire property. Every week, he faithfully prepares the facility for the services and events.

“The biggest thing I know is we need to be in church and we need to fellowship because God showed me the difference between being isolated and being with people. God wants us to be with people. My biggest strength comes through connecting with people because I can pray for them, they can pray for me, and we can lift each other up. Fellowship is very important. You’ve got to be in church. Being planted somewhere is really important.”

“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the river, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord Your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.’” Isaiah 43:1-3
